Le Fumoir
Upscale brasserie behind the Louvre |
Set opposite the Louvre, between the rue de Rivoli and the church of Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois, Le Fumoir is one of the busiest and most trendy cafes in Pari. Its large windows, sofas, leather armchairs, cocktails, books and international press make it an ideal afternoon meeting place.
Supposedly, it has a little library at the back where you can sit and read. It has a very chic, smoky atmosphere, full of stylish fashion and art establishment types talking business over their drinks and laptop.

We want Miles
A course into the personal and musical journey of Miles Davis |
|
With the support of Mile Davis Properties, the Cite de la Musique Paris invites you to relive the musical journey of Miles Davis, a composer and trumpeter of genius.
In 1981, Miles Davis broke years of retirement with the album The Man with the Horn. Shortly afterwards, he confirmed his come-back with a live album: We Want Miles, which underlined how long-awaited his return had been by the public. As a tribute to the expectations that the public had of him throughout his career, this exhibition takes the title of this emblematic come-back album.
The exhibition recounts the artist’s life (1926-1991), from his birth-town of St Louis to the retrospective concert he gave at La Villette in Paris a few weeks before his death. This is no trivial moment since it coincides with the 50th anniversary of the “Kind of Blue” album and the 60th anniversary of his first appearance in Paris at the Salle Pleyel ! |
