We want Miles
A course into the personal and musical journey of Miles Davis
With the support of Mile Davis Properties, the Cite de la Musique Paris invites you to relive the musical journey of Miles Davis, a composer and trumpeter of genius.
In 1981, Miles Davis broke years of retirement with the album The Man with the Horn. Shortly afterwards, he confirmed his come-back with a live album: We Want Miles, which underlined how long-awaited his return had been by the public. As a tribute to the expectations that the public had of him throughout his career, this exhibition takes the title of this emblematic come-back album.
The exhibition recounts the artist’s life (1926-1991), from his birth-town of St Louis to the retrospective concert he gave at La Villette in Paris a few weeks before his death. This is no trivial moment since it coincides with the 50th anniversary of the “Kind of Blue” album and the 60th anniversary of his first appearance in Paris at the Salle Pleyel !

The Stranglers
Suite XVI Tour
The Stranglers has been founded by the drummer Jet Black . Other original personnel were bass player/vocalist Jean Jacques Burnel, guitarist/vocalist Hugh Cornwell and keyboardist Dave Greenfield.
The Stranglers' early sound was driven by Burnel's pulsating bass, but also proudly gave prominence to Greenfield's keyboards at a time when the instrument was seen as unfashionable. Their early music was also characterised by the growling vocals and sometimes misanthropic lyrics of both Burnel and Cornwell. Suite XVI was released in September 2006 and continued the band's resurgence. Although partly a return to the band's heavier punk roots, the album featured a typically idiosyncratic mixture of musical styles.
